2 Night Cruise Itinerary

Friday
Your weekend cruise departs from Murray Bridge, just 45 minutes from Adelaide. Connecting coach transfers depart the Central Bus Station in Adelaide or if you prefer to drive, lock up garaging is available for your vehicle.

8:00pm
You are welcomed aboard by the friendly Proud Mary crew.
Having settled into your comfortable accommodation, you may like
to join the fellow passengers in the dining room & enjoy a pre-
dinner drink before a delicious hot supper is served.

Proud Mary cruises to its overnight mooring point and your
captain introduces the crew. Night cruising is a feature
of all Proud Mary cruises and this evening Proud Mary’s
powerful flood lights illuminate the graceful willows and dark waters
as you cruise.

This is an excellent opportunity to see the River environment in a different perspective and may allow you to view some of the noctural wildlife, especially birds such as night herons, owls, and coots.

10:00pm
Proud Mary ties up at Sunnyside, our overnight mooring, for a night of peace and tranquility in the Australia bush.

Dining room is closed.

Saturday
7:00am
The dining room is opened.

8:00am
Proud Mary departs Sunnyside and continues upstream today through some of the most spectacular scenery on the entire Murray River system.

The inland lagoons were so immense that in the early riverboat days, Captains could not find true channels. In the early 1900′s riverboat Captains planted willow trees along the banks to clearly mark the main river channel. Today the willos provide the perfect haven for the prolific birdlife. There are some 320 speciesof birdlife in this area and with the aid of binoculars and your well informed guide, you will study at close range the prolific birdlife.

8.15-9.00am
A hearty buffet breakfast is available, which you can enjoy while cruising through Mypolonga, Woodlane, Caloote and Ponde.

10.30am
The Proud Mary berths in Mannum allowing time for a stroll through this historic town.

12.30pm
The vessel departs Mannum. Enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the Proud Mary chefs as you cruise upstream through Younghusband & Teal Flat.

3.00pm
Late afternoon, Proud Mary ties at the Teal Flat barbecue site, which is alongside the towering cliffs and beautiful sandy beaches. Here, you will enjoy a guided cruise led by our expert ecologist aboard a small boat through the lagoons and inlets of the Murray River, a highlight of your journey.

5.00pm
Bar opens onshore, while the crew prepares the barbecue.

6.30pm
This evening you will enjoy a traditional Australian barbecue on shore folowed by Aussie entertainment around a blazing campfire.

11.30pm
Dining room closes.

Sunday
7.00am
The dining rooms is opened. Tea/Coffee is available.
This morning there will be time for further exploration of the tranquil Australian bush.

7.45am
Proud Mary departs Teal Flat & cruises downstream towards Mannum.

8.15–9.00am
This morning you will enjoy a hearty breakfast.

10.15am
Mid-morning you will arrive at picturesque Mannum. Here you canboard the waiting coach for your tour to Reedy Creek Environmental Park/Waterfalls area. Your guide will provide you with informationto enable you to identify significant rock formations and the abundant native vegetation and bridlife.

Comfortable walking shoes are recommended and we suggest you take along your cameras, as Reedy Creek is a very picturesque area.

12.15pm
Departs Mannum.

12.30pm
Smorgasbord lunch is served. It is a superb buffet with fresh local produce. This afternoon there will be more spectacular scenery while the Proud Mary cruises past Ponde, Caloote, Woodlane, Mypolonga and Willow Banks. A video on Murray Ecology will be shown during the afternoon.

4.00pm
Late afternoon, the Vessel secures at Murray Bridge.
